My history in purebred dogs goes back to the 1970s when I started breeding and exhibiting Standard Poodles, as a major and fun hobby. After 35 years there are now 77 Lemerle AKC Champion Standard Poodles and we have acheived many Best-In-Shows and Group wins, as well as Obedience, Agility, Hunt Trial and International Champions.
When I retired from the University of Minnesota, my husband and I moved to Colorado and eventually to sunny New Mexico. We acquired our first Bichon, Roxie, in 2006, she became a champion, and we fell in love with the breed. They are so adorable, beautiful, smart, and trainable! We now have 2 Champion girls and Krystal is the mother of our 2023 litter. Our Taylor was shown by me to achieve her Grand Championship in 2023 and is currently the #2 OH Bichon in the USA!
How fortunate that I was able to befriend the following Bichon breeder-owners who have contributed so much to our success in Bichons:
** Carol Fellbaum - Hallmark Bichons, in Texas
** Joanne Rubin - Gloryb Bichons, in Oregon
** Prissy Davis - Tamiami Bichons, in Florida
** Peter Sanghoon Lee - Neverland Staz Bichons in S. Korea
My gratitude to all of them !!
I am a member of several purebred dog organisations and I follow their guidelines and ethical recommendations;
** Bichon Frise Club of America, Bichon Frise Club of San Diego
** Poodle Club of America, Twin Cities Poodle Club, Columbia (OR) Poodle Club
** Mesilla Valley (All-Breeds) Kennel Club
